Christmas Cheese Trees with Honey & Pomegranate

These sweet-salty, crunchy, juicy little trees disappear in seconds! Kids love eating them like lollipops, adults can’t stop at one.
Perfect festive appetizer that looks impressive but is ridiculously easy.

Ingredients

8–10 triangular processed cheese wedges (e.g. Laughing Cow, President, Babybel, or any soft spreadable cheese triangles, the classic ones in foil)
⅓ cup (80 ml) liquid honey Seeds from ½–1 large pomegranate (the more, the merrier!)
2–3 teaspoons dried herbs (Italian mix, Herbes de Provence, oregano + thyme – whatever you love)
8–10 thin salted breadsticks, pretzel sticks, or grissini (for the “tree trunks”)
Optional: a tiny pinch of flaky sea salt and a little star cut from cheese or carrot for the top

Cooking Instructions

Unwrap the cheese triangles and let them sit at room temperature for 5–10 minutes so they soften a little.
Carefully push one breadstick/pretzel stick into the wide base of each cheese triangle – this becomes the trunk of the tree.
Stand the trees up on a serving plate.
Drizzle honey in zigzag lines from the top down, like Christmas lights.
Generously sprinkle the dried herbs all over so the cheese is almost completely covered in green “pine needles”.
Decorate with lots of bright red pomegranate seeds – they look exactly like Christmas ornaments!

Chef's Note

Add a tiny pinch of flaky salt and place a little star on top of each tree.
Chill in the fridge for 10 minutes so the honey sets slightly, then serve.
